Xplore Engineering 2017 with the Lahann Lab

A contingent of the Lahann Lab got together to teach children of Michigan Alumni all about targeted nanoparticle drug delivery at the 2017 version of Xplore Engineering. The kids were taught about cancer, drug delivery and nanoparticle fabrication.

Jake and Stacy continued their outreach efforts at a local elementary school, teaching the students about polymers, crosslinking, and gelation using an Elmer's glue and Borax activity. 

Engineering Club October 2015

Stacy and Jake continue to run the Engineering Club program at Adams STEM academy aimed at teaching elementary age children about science and engineering principles. This week they focused on teaching the kids about technical writing using geoboards. Writing down detailed instructions on how to create a new 'computer circuit' was more difficult than the kids anticipated!

One Day Closer 2015

Luis, Stacy, Jake, and Kathleen volunteered at One Day Closer event at NCRC. The day was dedicated to teaching the public our current research in creating cancer microenvironments and targeted cancer therapies. Mr. Plinko (shown here) was created by Luis as a game to teach kids about targeted drug delivery and cancer metastasis.

Stacy and Jake volunteer at a local elementary school to help teach kids about science and engineering in an after-school environment. This week they simulated earthquakes on towers made from toothpicks and marshmallows.
